Fashionable silver belt with ethnic motives

Since ancient times the national dress of Armenian women (called “Taraz”) has had an aesthetic value bearing traditional elements of culture and lifestyle. Silver belt was an integral part of the look of a married woman as a sign of perfection. The woman’s belt with a special buckle, being fixed right at the center of the body, was connected with fertility. It symbolized fruitfulness and protected the mother’s fetus from evil forces.
